Publication Ethics
Convergia: Journal of Multidisciplinary Research
Convergia is committed to upholding academic integrity and ensuring that all aspects of the publication process conform to internationally recognized ethical standards, particularly those outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). These ethical guidelines apply to all parties involved in publishing: authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
1. Ethics for Authors
-
Submitted manuscripts must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere.
-
Authors must properly cite all sources and include relevant references.
-
All individuals who made significant contributions to the research and writing must be listed as co-authors.
-
Any potential conflicts of interest or sources of funding must be clearly disclosed.
-
Research data must be presented honestly, and the methods must be described in sufficient detail to allow replication.
2. Ethics for Reviewers
-
Reviewers must provide objective, honest, and constructive evaluations of manuscripts.
-
Reviewers are not allowed to share, misuse, or exploit any information from the manuscripts they review.
-
Reviewers must inform the editor of any conflict of interest and decline to review manuscripts that fall outside their area of expertise.
3. Ethics for Editors
-
Editors are responsible for making editorial decisions and ensuring that all published articles go through a fair and rigorous peer review process.
-
Editors must maintain confidentiality and not use information obtained from the review process for personal gain.
-
Decisions on manuscript acceptance or rejection must not be influenced by external pressure or personal interest.
-
Editors are expected to take appropriate action in the event of ethical violations, including the possibility of article retraction.
